I love tech sales! I love the tech, the people, the constant innovation, and of course, the commissions. I earned millions through my sales career, which allowed me to retire from a corporate sales job. I have also helped hundreds of salespeople create lucrative careers of their own.
But there's a huge problem with the sales industry these days. Sellers are undertrained and highly reliant on tools vs skills. Most sales managers manage pipeline and reports, instead of actually enabling their reps and helping them find and close deals. The training reps do get is outdated, or about product and company highlights... you know, the stuff that doesn't actually help find or close deals.
